19 December 2007

Joel, stay in the light.

Yesterday was a movie day. I saw the two movies. Unfortunately neither was Christmas related, but both were good.

In the morning BK and I went to see I AM LEGEND. We'd both been chomping at the bit to go see it- so as soon as we got up we went. I will not say too much so that I do not ruin it for those who have not seen it. If you like Will Smith, or end of the world type stories you will most likely not mind paying the 8-12 bucks it costs to see it.

One of the previews before I am Legend was for THE DARK KNIGHT. Heath Ledger = The Joker = awesome.

After we got out of the movies BK's friend Andy called to see if we wanted to go to a free preview screening of Sweeny Todd that evening. We did. Unfortunately the free screening was way crowded and we could not get seats. Since we were already out and at the theater we decided to see a movie anyways. Fortunately a showing of Juno was about to begin. I'd recommend you see that movie- you'll like it.

This weekend will be another great weekend for movies....you know why....NATIONAL TREASURE 2- BOOK OF SECRETS!!! I am psyched for that one!

17 December 2007

Joel, silence makes me nervous.

I am Legend has been out four days now and I have yet to see it. This is not acceptable.

Please do not comment on the movie- let me see it with without a bias.

In other news....Christmas is coming and the goose is getting fat.

Tonight I continued my Christmas movie watching with the classic- Heman and Shera Christmas Special. It's special alright! BY THE HONOR OF GRAYSKULL! It gave me the idea to try and find the castle grayskull toy which my brother Andrew has missed ever since Helen gave it away to the boys she babysat. If I can find it...christmas or birthday gift!!

Also- one of my new favorite Christmas songs (and just a stand up song!) and one YOU NEED TO DOWNLOAD is Jimmy Eat Worlds, "If you were born today." Go to itunes- check it out. It is on the Christmas EP with "Last Christmas," which is another fantastic song.

Joel, movies provide inspiration of all sorts

Um..hello...

When I read this headline I immediatly think Shawshank Redemption. Anyone else?

Joel, a lifeforce is what keeps us moving in life.

There is something I absolutely love about ruffles potato chips and lays creamy ranch dressing. It is one of my favorite snacks.

As well, I thoroughly enjoy ramen. I have grown up on that stuff. I remember coming home from Kindergarten everyday to sit down on my parents bed with a bowl of ramen (with one ice cube of course) and watch TV (there was a show with a puppet frog- not kermit). I always put the fork on the icecube and lifted it up in amazement to see lines melted away. Since then I have graduated from many things including the ice cube in the ramen. I have gone through phases of loving and hating ramen. I always come back to enjoy it. In college I thrived on the stuff. I discovered that if I overcooked the ramen a little it got thicker and I liked that more. During my Senior year when I was broke and had days when I forgot to eat and ramen sustained me (as well as chicken cheese steaks and sausage and egg sandwiches from pete's).

I am eating these items for dinner tonight.

P.S--> I bought a lovely 3 foot tree. It is fake, but I still love it. I am going to set it up- and when my love comes home we will decorate. I also bought wrapping supplies and ingredients for chocolate chip cookies. Sadly...no fabric to make stockings or a tree skirt. I will have to go out Tuesday to find that. Yesterday I watched both Scrooged and Christmas Vacation.

13 December 2007

Joel, keep CHRIST in CHRISTmas.

The things one sometimes does for love....are often crazy.

Totally unrelated...

I am going to make a solid effort to get into the Christmas Spirit- starting this weekend! I am going to do much of the following:

1. Buy gifts
2. Buy pretty ribbons and paper
3. Wrap gifts in pretty ribbons and paper.
4. Watch all of my favorite Christmas movies including but not limited to the following:
A. White Christmas
B. It's a Wonderful Life
C. Scrooged
D. Elf
E. Home Alone
F. National Lampoons Christmas Vacation
5. Bake Christmas cookies, pies, and cakes
6. Eat and share with friends Christmas cookies, pies, and cakes.
7. Convince BK that although he hates fake trees in the absence of a real tree, and in an apartment in much need of Christmas cheer a fake tree is okay.
8. Buy tabletop tree.
9. Decorate tree.
10. Hand make pretty lovely stockings and matching Christmas tree skirt that will last many Christmassssss to come.
11. Eat more Christmas cookies, pies, and cakes in front of newly decorated tree and other fan fare.
12. Kiss under misletoe

12 December 2007

Joel, imitation is the highest form of flattery.

We are doing a Christmas card. I was looking forward to doing a Christmas card and maybe even a cool NEWSLETTER! Then I was all like...oh I have no time to do that...oh well. Then today I was like- what do I mean no time?! I am not working and Christmas is still weeks away! BK is setting up the camera now. I do not know what the end product will be...but if you're lucky you'll get one in the mail.

Ironically, not long after I had the thought I got a call for work. It's nothing big- just one day tomorrow and that's it.

BK and I went to see Enchanted the other night. It was a cute movie that the whole family can enjoy. If you have a young daughter or niece you may want to take them to see it as a treat. I hope to do that if she hasn't seen it already!

Joel, marriage is life realized and the grass is never greener when we get to the other side and God does not fit in a box (or does he?).

I am in kind of a sad mood. Just one of those moments when I feel a little overwhelmed with life. Just a little sick of myself. A little impatient with time.

I love my husband. He is wonderful. When I am down he says sweet things to me, and kisses me softly, and tells me everything is going to be fine- because we are together. Other times- he kicks me in the butt and says "STOP" when I need to hear "STOP" and "GO" when I need to hear "GO."

I was looking back at our wedding pictures (again) and thinking about how much freaking fun we had that weekend. I miss my wedding. I want to go back and do it again.

Ce la vie. Such is life. I always seem to want something different than what is in front of me right now.

I feel the need (like I need to breath) to do something creative.

I was going to assign a pretty wicked awesome assignment here, but I have decided to keep the idea (my best yet) for myself. I like the idea. We'll see where it goes.

05 December 2007

Joel, Jews do it for eight nights.

It snowed today and it was lovely. I love snow.

Here's my assignment:

Twinkly lights.
Santa and Mrs. Clause in bed.
Reindeer footprints.

Next assignment: Watch these movies this Christmas season. I'll be happy to watch any of them with you.

1. White Christmas
2. National Lampoons Christmas Vacation
3. Scrooged
4. It's a Wonderful Life

03 December 2007

Joel, in this job called life our only deadline is death.

Today was a little strange.

BK and I fell asleep around 4:30pm and did not wake up till 8:30pm. Then around 9pm we decided to go get some dinner. BK and I shared a caesar salad. Then I ate a hamburger with provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato, and ketchup and the best french fries ever. I drank a lager. BK ate quesadillas and drank 3 lagers.

At dinner I decided that when we got home we would cut my hair.

On the way home I said, "i wish it would start snowing." Then it started snowing. I realized that as I walked I looked down and hunched- hiding from the cold. I decided to walk tall and hold my face towards the sky. The snow began to hit my face and it was cold and lovely and melted upon my skin.

Then we cut my hair. A lot of it. I wanted to document the cut, but did not because I was mostly naked during.

I might cut more off...I wait to see how I feel about the matter in the morning.

I miss taking photographs. I miss creating and thinking. School forced me to do those things with its assignments and deadlines. Now there is no one forcing me to do those wonderful things. Can we start giving one another homework?

Class- here is your assignment. Give me exactly 10 words in any format of your choosing focused on the Christmas holiday.
